Gary McCauley is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Model Britain, leading the vision, strategy and development of a major new visitor attraction celebrating the innovation, heritage, landscapes, transport and culture of the United Kingdom.
His professional background spans more than two decades in systems engineering and complex infrastructure. That experience has developed a strong understanding of technical systems, multidisciplinary coordination, problem-solving and the long-term delivery of complex projects.
Gary first conceived the original Model Britain vision in 2012. Following an interruption to the project's early development, the concept was later revived with substantially greater ambition and has evolved into the major visitor destination now in active development.
As Chief Executive, Gary leads the continued development of the concept and works across the project's leadership, professional advisers, specialist partners and external stakeholders to bring together the disciplines required to move Model Britain from vision towards delivery.

Gary's principal responsibility is to protect and develop the long-term vision for Model Britain while ensuring that creative ambition is translated into a credible and deliverable destination.
His engineering background informs an approach centred on systems thinking, integration and the relationship between multiple disciplines. Architecture, planning, finance, operations, technology, education, visitor experience and miniature design must ultimately operate as one connected destination.
As Founder and Chief Executive, Gary also leads the development of the partnerships, leadership capability and stakeholder relationships required to move Model Britain through development and towards long-term delivery.
