Peter M Moore OBE is one of the foremost leaders in the UK tourism and attractions sector. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has shaped several of Britain’s most successful leisure destinations and helped establish national standards in operational excellence, commercial strategy and guest experience. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his services to tourism.
Peter is best known for his transformative 15-year tenure at Center Parcs UK, where he ultimately served as Managing Director. During this period, he oversaw major expansions, strengthened the organisation’s commercial and operational frameworks, and helped define Center Parcs as Britain’s leading short-break destination. In addition to his UK responsibilities, he also served as Chairman of Marketing for Center Parcs Europe, extending his influence across the wider European portfolio.
Before joining Center Parcs, Peter served as Director of Marketing at Alton Towers during a pivotal stage in its development. His strategic and creative leadership helped reposition Alton Towers as the UK’s leading visitor attraction and laid the foundations for its long-term commercial success.
Peter’s career also includes senior roles across several nationally significant organisations. He has served as Chairman of Chill Factore, the UK’s largest indoor real-snow leisure destination, and as Director of Communications for The Tour of Britain, contributing to the modern revival of Britain’s national cycling race. He is also Managing Director of Brightaspect Leisure, through which he has advised a wide range of leisure, tourism and development organisations. He also served two terms as a Board Member of VisitEngland, working closely with senior government figures within the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
