Martin Grieve - Model Britain

Martin began his career at PwC, qualifying as a chartered accountant and progressing to Senior Manager across audit and transaction services. He subsequently moved to Unilever, holding a series of senior executive roles, including CFO Unilever HPC Mexico, CFO Global Homecare and Hygiene, and Managing Director of Unilever Corporate Ventures, where he led Unilever’s global venture capital and private equity activities across Europe, North America, and Asia. In these roles, he chaired investment committees, oversaw major capital allocation decisions, and delivered significant growth, margin improvement, and cash generation through periods of economic volatility.

He later joined Reckitt, where he served as SVP Corporate Finance. At Reckitt, Martin led global financial reporting and performance analysis, financial planning, strategic analysis, M&A evaluation and capital allocation. He played a central role in navigating the business through the global cyber-attack in 2017, the COVID period and subsequent commodity cost pressures, group wide restructuring, and led a major global finance transformation programme.

Alongside his executive career, Martin has held a range of non-executive, trustee, and governance roles, including service on pension trustee boards, investment committees, and finance committees overseeing major capital projects. He is currently a Finance Committee Member at Effingham Golf Club, contributing to governance, financial oversight, and strategic decision-making.

At Model Britain, Martin provides financial oversight, capital strategy, and investment guidance, supporting the project’s ambition to build a world-class, nationally significant cultural attraction.
