Alex Mawer

Alex Mawer is a senior marketing and brand leader with more than 25 years of experience shaping some of the UK’s most recognisable organisations across the tourism, leisure, and heritage sectors. He is currently Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF). He has held senior roles at the LEGO Group, VisitEngland, the Lawn Tennis Association, Capita, and Hornby Hobbies.

Alex Mawer - Model Britain

As Global Marketing Director at the LEGO Group, Alex guided brand and visitor strategies for nine LEGOLAND Parks and 27 LEGOLAND Discovery Centres worldwide. Earlier, as Marketing Director for VisitEngland, he led national tourism campaigns for No. 10 Downing Street and the Cabinet Office, overseeing a £30 million budget and a 60-strong international team.
Alex also serves as a Non-Executive Board Member for the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT). His expertise in brand strategy, public engagement, and cultural storytelling brings invaluable strategic insight to Model Britain’s mission and national ambition.
